Hey lovely people!
My name is Ellie and I am leading the Moonlitmind Project!
I am 19 from West Yorkshire and I am studying level 3 health and social science with the hope of pursuing mental health nursing, art psychotherapy or occupational therapy!

Why have I started Moonlitmind?
I have struggled with anxiety since I was 4 years old, which later manifested into panic attacks. At the start of my teens my fight with depression began, as a result I developed an eating disorder and following an inpatient admission I have since struggled with C-PTSD which fortunately I am in a much better place with thanks to a wonderful therapist and as she would say ‘doing the hard work”.
I understand the difficulties people face surrounding mental health and how unfortunately so many people are having poor care and feeling isolated and misunderstood. These experiences often aren’t aired and left to manifest into longer term issues, when sometimes, all people need is a safe place to feel heard, safe and validated. We are not professionals, therefore we cannot offer professional advice, however, we are people, people with lived experiences, and we want to use that for good. So the Moonlitmind Project was made, and hopefully you will join us on our journey to raise awareness, bring comfort and change from the chaos.
About me!
I am an avid creative, you’ll always find me up to something, whether that be drawing, painting, crocheting, needle punching, sewing, knitting, you name it! I have an art diploma which I focused on crochet and abstract painting! So much so that I did a christmas market in 2023 for the charity BEAT (eating disorders). I’m a big live music fan and those around me know I’m OBSESSED with Florence + the Machine, along with CMAT, Etta Marcus, Tom Odell, Lana Del Rey, Mitski, Radiohead, Billy Joel and Paris Paloma.

I LOVE tattoos, I have 6 now and I plan to get more. I have one for Florence, one for Simon and Garfunkel, Girl Interrupted and a couple more personal ones.
I love animals and my dogs are my world, Daisy and Bean, they’re my beautiful babies, I’m sure they’ll make an appearance!
I have a booktok too where I talk all about what I’m reading, but I’ll admit I haven’t read in a little while, my head has been a little busy with coursework.
I’m also a jellycat collector. I confess, they all have names and purposes, so each day I’ll pick the jellycat that matches my mood and they’ll join me for the day!
I’ve always been interested in spiritual practice, whether that be crystals, tarot, anything! It brings me a lot of comfort as I’ve been interested in it since I was very young.

If you were a song, what song would you be?
Definitely Queen of Peace by Florence + the Machine, not necessarily for the title, but the lyric I have tattooed, “over the glowing hill I will conquer”. This song has seen me through some tough times, and I still love it. I think having a song you carry with you can be a little boost in your pocket.
What’s my dream self care evening?
So this might be a little…original? First, everything shower. I know that for some of us things like personal hygiene can fall on the backburner. Feeling fresh is a big anxiety reliever for me. I find if I’m struggling and I neglect my environment and myself, I feel even worse, so I try to break the cycle and freshen up as soon as possible! Then in the lounge, with some comfort food, mine is either jacket potatoes or noodles (I can’t stop), get under my heated blanket and put on some TV. Ironically my favourite TV is anything medical based, maybe that’s the future nurse in me trying to claw her way out? Or Big Brother…yeah I’m confused too.
I am super excited to be beginning this journey, and I genuinely hope we can bring around some level of positive change, watch this space! Remember, you’re worthy, valuable and important,
Take gentle care,
El xo
